David Bruce Rose, Ph.D., associate professor of marriage and family therapy, was elected on September 16, 2017, to be a Presbytery of San Joaquin Commissioner to the 223rd General Assembly of Presbyterian Church USA. The biennial assembly, which will take place June 16-23, 2018, in St. Louis, MO, brings together commissioners from each of the denomination’s 173 presbyteries, or regional governing bodies, which are gathered into 16 synods. The assembly acts on hundreds of business items, which it receives through reports and recommendations from various assembly entities, and through overtures from presbyteries and synods. There is also an exhibit hall, daily worship services and mission tours. More at oga.pcusa.org/section/ga/ga/
