Gathering students, faculty, staff, administrators and board members for a community Thanksgiving lunch the Tuesday before turkey day is a longstanding tradition at Fresno Pacific University. In addition to the parade of flags honoring international students, songs, prayers, delicious food and great conversation across the tables in the Special Events Center, the 2017 edition featured contributions to the university food pantry sponsored by the Office of Spiritual Formation. The pantry, which is expanding into a new building on the main campus, serves any member of the university community with non-perishable food and personal hygiene products. The theme of the annual table decoration contest, won by the Traditional Undergraduate Admissions Office, was collecting items for the pantry. FPU First Lady Yvette Jones gave the message of the day, calling on all those present November 21, 2017, to be wakeful for God’s word at such a time as this. See the entire event
