Fresno Pacific University’s first Psychology Research Night took place Wednesday, November 30, 2016, in the Thiessen Conference Center in AIMS Center for Math and Science on the main FPU campus.
Student researchers presented semester-long projects from the Experimental Psychology course, taught by Elizabeth Lake, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology. The research projects were about optimism about marriage, facial preferences in attraction, the placebo effect and fear, types of practice on performance of a physical skill, and acceptance of homosexuality of an athlete based on age and physical touch. The psychology department anticipates holding a research night each fall semester to complement the Undergraduate Research Day traditionally held in the spring.
