FPU News

New appointments and an innovative approach to organizational structure are revitalizing the fund development and communications/marketing efforts at FPU.

President Pete C. Menjares, Ph.D., has appointed Diana Bates Mock, former associate vice president for university communications and marketing, as the new vice president for the Office of Advancement and University Relations, bringing back together two departments that have been operating separately for the past 18 months.

When Ken Bedell travels the country, he finds good news about education.

Bedell, Ph.D., is senior advisor to the White House Office on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships in the U.S. Department of Education. He spoke to about 50 area educational, church and non-profit leaders at a luncheon sponsored by the FPU Center for Community Transformation and School of Education.

Leslie Schuemann has been appointed FPU Director of Athletics.

Schuemann becomes the first female director of athletics in the history of FPU, or any four-year university in Fresno, and presently the only female director of athletics in the Pacific West Conference. She has served as the department’s senior associate athletics director since July 2012, overseeing day-to-day operations.
