Biology

Biology at Fresno Pacific University ranges from the biochemical analysis of cells to the study of global ecosystems. It happens on campus in the teaching and research laboratories of AIMS Hall, it extends to the local community as part of internships in agriculture and medicine and it journeys to the mountains, coasts and deserts of California during field studies. The biology program prepares students for the rigorous intellectual challenges of careers as diverse as medicine, teaching and scientific research.

Visual Art Scholarships

The visual arts major, whether a studio, art administration or graphic arts emphasis, requires much time, energy, talent and dedication on behalf of its students. FPU recognizes and seeks to reward this commitment through scholarships.

Academic Programs in Art

The art program offers a bachelor of arts degree in art with three different emphases and also a liberal studies major with an art concentration. A minor in art is also offered.

Art Department

The art program at Fresno Pacific University is designed for everyone with an interest in art. Whether you're a serious art student or someone who just wants to add a bit of creativity to your life, we offer an art major with three different emphases, an art minor and art classes designed just for you. Our innovative, hands-on program is where students learn essential artistic skills from top-tiered faculty.

Art - Studio Art Emphasis

The studio art emphasis exposes students to the contemporary practice, visual culture theory and historical perspectives for the visual arts. Students in the art studio emphasis are exposed to a wide range of media and develop the critical and conceptual skills needed to realize a personal artistic vision. Students will learn requirements of a professional career and be guided in the building of a professional artistic portfolio.

Art - Graphic Arts Emphasis

The graphic arts emphasis prepares art major students for further study in either graphic arts or graphic design. Both of these fields are increasingly more popular and plentiful in today's computer savvy society. Students who choose the graphic arts emphasis, take basic and advanced graphic arts courses and explore the field of graphic art, its technologies and uses.
