Frequently Asked Questions

When is Orientation?

New Student Orientation will be held August 19, 2021 in-person on the FPU campus for all incoming freshmen and transfer students. 

When can new students move into housing?

All students will move in on Thursday, August 19 at 9:00 a.m.

What time does Orientation start?

Transfer Student Orientation will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Shehadey Dining Hall (Steinert Campus Center). Students will enjoy a lunch with faculty members from their program and meet other new students.

All students will meet in the Special Events Center for the Welcome Ceremony at 1:00 p.m.

How do I sign up for Orientation?

Is there a schedule of events for Orientation?

Yes! All students will receive a printed schedule when they check into Orientation. Posters of the day’s schedule will also be available around campus for easy reference.

Can parents or family members attend Orientation?

Yes! Family members are invited to attend all sessions and activities. Due to limited indoor space and to allow for social distancing, students are asked to limit their family guests to 2-3 people max.

Is there translation available for Spanish speaking family members?

Yes, translation devices will be available in the lobby of the Special Events Center.

Where should students/families park on Orientation day?

There are no parking restrictions in August.

Is Orientation mandatory?

Yes.
