FPU’s school psychology, school counseling and applied behavior analysis pathways provide a clear progression from undergraduate preparation to graduate study and professional practice. Students build a strong foundation in human development, communication, research and behavioral support while preparing for advanced programs in school counseling, school psychology and applied behavior analysis. Students may begin at Fresno Pacific University or transfer from a community college after completing an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT).

Undergraduate Preparation

Undergraduate study at Fresno Pacific University prepares students for graduate programs and careers in school counseling, school psychology and behavioral health services.

Students build a foundation in human development, communication, research and behavioral support while developing the interpersonal and analytical skills needed for professional practice.

Undergraduate pathways may include:

M.A. in School Counseling with Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPS)

The School Counseling program prepares candidates to support students’ academic achievement, personal growth and social-emotional well-being within K–12 educational settings.

M.A. in School Psychology with Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPS)

The School Psychology program prepares professionals to assess and support student learning, collaborate with families and educators and promote positive mental health outcomes for students.

Dual Program: M.A. in School Counseling and School Psychology with Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPS)

The dual program provides an integrated pathway for students interested in broader preparation and expanded professional opportunities within student support services.

M.A. in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

The Applied Behavior Analysis program prepares students to utilize evidence-based behavioral assessment and intervention strategies in educational and clinical settings while preparing for BCBA™ examination requirements.

Professional Experience and Career Preparation

Professional preparation is integrated throughout each stage of the pathway. Students participate in fieldwork, internships and supervised experiences that connect classroom learning with real-world practice.
