Whether it's taking self-assessments, identifying your values, conducting informational interviews or processing your unique journey, our team's mission is to help you discover and live out your calling.
Here are four ways that we encourage you to uncover your calling and gain a sense of satisfaction through your work:
- Figure out what you’re into—your interests, skills, strengths, values and personality. This helps you find careers that actually fit you. FPU students and alumni can email career.services@fresno.edu for free assessments.
- Now that you know yourself better, research jobs that match. Check out what they do, what skills they need, how much they pay and how to get there. Chat with people in the field to gain real information and start networking.
- You’ve got options—don’t stress. If you’re thinking about switching your major or adding a minor, your academic advisor is your go-to. Visit What Can I Do With This Major? to see where your major can lead you.
- Time to make a game plan. Set goals, find training or experience you need, prep your resume and research employers. Start building a path to the career you want.
Looking to gain experience in a specific industry? Consider volunteering or shadowing a professional. These hands-on opportunities can help you grow personally while offering valuable insights into potential career paths.
