Chit n’ Chat with FPU Admissions: Nessa and Amanda

December 11, 2025

If you've ever wondered what our admissions counselors are really like, you're in for a treat!

We videoed two of our campus favorites, Amanda Beaulieu and Nessa Coppola, asking them questions that covered everything from morning vibes to favorite campus spots.

Spoiler alert: one thrives at sunrise, the other comes alive after dark; both run on coffee, and at least one of them has very strong feelings about ice cream. This duo brings the energy, the honesty and plenty of laughs.

Watch the short video or read the text below and get to know the people who can't wait to welcome you to the FPU community!

Q: Are you an early bird or a night owl?

Amanda: Early Bird.

Nessa: Night Owl.

Q: Coffee or no coffee?

Amanda: Ooh, coffee!

Nessa: Coffee.

Q: Dogs or cats?

Amanda: Neither.

Nessa: Both!

Q: Books or movies?

Amanda: Books.

Nessa: Hmmm… Both! No Movies!

Q: What is your go-to snack?

Nessa: I got one. Oh, you've got one, go ahead. I guess sweet.

Amanda: Ice Cream!

Q: What is your favorite spot on the main campus?

Amanda: The Warkentine Chapel.

Nessa: Either the seminary behind us or just in front of McDonald Hall.

Q: What is the first thing you do when you get to campus?

Amanda: I turn on the lights and get the room ready so that any visitors who come in feel at home.

Nessa: I park my car… makes sense. I head to my office in the Wiebe Education Center and just meet with students.

Q: You should come to an admissions event because...

Amanda: The campus! You gotta get a feel for the campus.

Nessa: Come for the vibes, come for the people and also kind of live a day-in-the-life of one of our students. Whether that's a preview day event like Sunbird preview days, or if it's a one-on-one campus visit, that really lets you know what it's like here.

Q: Describe FPU in one word.

Amanda: Community.

Nessa: Welcoming.

Q: What is one common question you get from students?

Nessa: What is campus culture like? We are a Christian college campus. We're super, super welcoming and also, as far as like what does our campus look like? Lively, fun, engaging.

Amanda: What's our food like? It's really good.

Nessa: The caf… Yes! Go to the cafeteria! We call it the caf.

Q: Any advice for future Sunbirds?

Amanda: Get to know somebody. Everybody here is super caring. They want to see you succeed. So, if you're feeling those anxious jitters with being the first on campus, come to our office. You guys know us, we'd be happy to just walk you around, introduce you to some of our tour guides who are also students here.

Nessa: Make the most of it! So, whether that's just showing up to your classes, meeting people, or like asking questions. If you can make the most of your time while you're here, that's my advice. Just make the most of it.
