Gayle Copeland

D. Gayle Copeland, Ph.D., is an experienced administrator with roots in the region, starting her career as a teacher at Immanuel High School in Reedley, Fresno Christian High School in Fresno and Sanger High School before becoming assistant principal and summer school principal at Fresno’s Central High School. She came to FPU from Simpson University, Redding, CA, where she was provost. Prior to that Copeland was professor and education department chair at Geneva College, Beaver Falls, PA, and assistant professor at California State University, Fresno and Baylor University. Copeland earned her Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership and M.A. in History from the University of Kansas. She has an M.A. in Education Administration and Supervision from Fresno State and a B.A. in History from Geneva College.
