Sunbird Alert
FPU's emergency notification system, Sunbird Alert, utilizes email and text messages to communicate official information to our students, faculty, staff and other community members during certain emergency situations.
Taking into account the safety of our campus and surrounding community, an emergency notification will be sent without delay once an immediate threat is identified and confirmed.
All members of our campus community must ensure that their personal contact information is up to date by logging into my.fpu.edu at least once each semester.
All current FPU students, faculty and staff are automatically enrolled to receive emergency notifications, but it is still vital to ensure that your information is listed correctly.
The Campus Safety Department ensures the well-being of the FPU community around the clock. Led by the chief of campus safety, the team of 12 full-time, unarmed uniformed officers provides 24/7 safety, security and emergency response on the main campus. Officers patrol campus grounds on foot, in golf carts and in marked vehicles, enabling rapid, reliable assistance whenever needed.
Sunbird Safe
Sunbird Safe is the official safety app for FPU. Keeping students, faculty and staff safe on campus is our priority.
If you need directions to a campus building, are walking to your car alone after dark or you want to report something you saw to authorities, all these things and more can be done on the app. There are interactive tools, helpful maps and displays, emergency contacts and emergency plans. Designed as an all-in-one tool for staying safe on campus, Sunbird Safe integrates with our safety and security systems. It is available for free download on both Apple and Google Play stores.
