Can You Picture Yourself Here? Why College Visits Matter

October 1, 2026

By Sunny the Sunbird

Hi, future Sunbirds! Sunny here.

You can learn a lot about a college online. You can compare majors, look at photos, read about scholarships and explore student life.

But college feels different when you experience it in person.

A campus visit gives you the chance to walk the grounds, meet the people who make up the community and get a better sense of what daily life might actually feel like. Sometimes the biggest question is not just, “Does this college have my major?” It is, “Can I picture myself here?”

What Should You Pay Attention to on a College Visit?

Start with the people.

Talk to current students. Meet professors. Ask questions about classes, campus life, clubs, athletics, internships, study abroad and anything else that matters to you.

Then pay attention to how the campus feels. Can you picture yourself walking to class, grabbing lunch, studying with friends or getting involved in something new?

And do not be afraid to ask practical questions too. How does registration work? What support is available if you need help? What are the residence halls like? How do scholarships and financial aid work?

A college visit is your chance to explore all of it.

Come See What It’s Like to Be a Sunbird

If Fresno Pacific University is on your college list, Sunbird Sneak Peek is your chance to experience FPU for yourself.

Your day will include a campus tour, an academic and student life overview, Chapel, admissions and financial aid information, and lunch on campus.

You will also have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and meet the people who could become part of your college experience.

Sunbird Sneak Peek is free, and parents and guests are welcome to attend with you.

*Plus, first-time attendees receive a $500 scholarship toward their FPU education just for attending!

Choosing a college is a big decision, and sometimes the best way to know if a place feels right is simply to go see it.

Walk around. Ask questions. Meet people. Picture yourself there.

You might leave with a much clearer idea of where you belong.

See you on campus!

Sunny

*Scholarship eligibility and restrictions apply.
