Clubs at FPU: Find Your Community on Campus

August 20, 2026

By Matthew Dillsaver

One of the biggest concerns for new college students isn't classes.

It's finding people they connect with. Whether you're passionate about service, faith, culture, academics or just trying something new, student clubs are one of the easiest ways to meet people and make campus feel like home.

Why You Should Join a Club

Joining a club at Fresno Pacific University gives you the opportunity to meet students from many majors. Clubs help you build lasting friendships with people who share your interests while giving you opportunities to develop leadership skills, serve the community, explore new hobbies and create memories that extend far beyond the classroom.

What Clubs Are at FPU?

FPU offers a variety of clubs that allow students to connect with others who share similar interests.

  • Interest and Hobby Clubs
    • Anime Club – Connects students with a shared interest in anime, exploring Japanese animation and culture through discussions, activities and events.
    • Birdies & Bogeys – A casual social club for students who enjoy golfing or want to learn the game.
    • Climbing Club – Connects rock-climbing enthusiasts through affordable local climbing and outdoor adventures.
    • Club Folklorico – Dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of Mexican folkloric dance.
    • Glass House – A creative community where artists and writers can share their talents and collaborate.
    • Mariachi Club – Welcomes musicians of all skill levels who are interested in celebrating Hispanic culture and music.
    • Model UN – Engages students in discussions of global issues and participation in United Nations simulations.
    • RunBirds – Provides a welcoming community for past, present and future Sunbirds to enjoy walking, running and training together at any experience level.
    • Wilderness Club – Explores the outdoors through hiking, camping and other adventure activities.
  • Academic and Professional Organizations
    • Kinesiology Club – Supports students interested in exercise science through professional development, networking and community engagement.
    • Nursing Club – Provides peer support, academic resources, service opportunities and career networking for future healthcare professionals.

Many students enjoy clubs because they offer opportunities for adventure, friendship and personal growth outside the classroom.

Don’t See a Club That Fits?

No problem! FPU encourages students to create new organizations based on their own interests. To start a new club:

  • Recruit a small group of interested students.
  • Ask an FPU faculty or staff member to serve as your club advisor.
  • Create a club constitution that explains the organization's purpose, goals and officer positions.
  • Visit the Student Life Office or the Student Government Association (SGA) for the club registration process.
  • Submit your club constitution, advisor agreement and member roster for approval.

Once your club is approved, you’ll be ready to begin making a positive impact on campus and in the community.
