Fresno Pacific’s nursing and health sciences programs are designed to address the Central Valley’s persistent shortage of healthcare professionals. Graduates often remain in the Valley, with many students coming from the very communities they will then serve.
“This generous gift from CalViva Health directly impacts our efforts to train and equip more healthcare workers in the Central Valley,” said FPU President, André Stephens, Ph.D. “This investment strengthens our ability to prepare students for meaningful service in the communities where they live and work. We are grateful for CalViva’s trust and support.”
CalViva Health is the Local Initiative Plan for Fresno, Kings and Madera counties and operates under the Medi-Cal Managed Care Program. It is sponsored by the Regional Health Authority, which prioritizes local access, local control and locally responsive healthcare. CalViva Health works to improve access to care and provide quality healthcare to families throughout the region by offering the right care at the right place and the right time. Under Medi-Cal Managed Care, CalViva Health connects members with doctors, pharmacies and health education programs within a coordinated network designed to help individuals and families stay healthy.
