The Career Achievement Program (CAP) is designed to provide students an opportunity to develop and practice essential career skills. CAP is open to all FPU students and alumni. CAP is organized in 3 phases: career development workshops, mock interviews, and a networking luncheon.
Career Development Workshops
Students attend a series of career development workshops: resume and cover letter writing, letters of recommendation requests, job search strategies, interview skills, professional networking, professionalism, and etiquette. Students also receive feedback and support to develop a resume and cover letter that highlights their professional background.
Mock Interviews
Employers conduct mock interviews with students. Students get to put their interviewing skills into practice. Employers provide students feedback on how to prepare and improve their interviewing skills for future jobs or internship interviews.
Networking Luncheon
Employers attend the networking event to give students an opportunity to practice their networking skills. Students can put their networking skills into practice, make great first impressions, and development long-lasting relationship to leverage their career success.
There is no cost to participate in CAP and the rewards for both employers and students are invaluable. Interested in supporting our FPU students get ready for the job market? Contact the Career Development Center for details.
